Congratulations to Justin Korup, the winner of Good Shepherd Rehabilitation’s 3D printer naming contest.
Justin’s winning entry — “3DPO” — is featured prominently on a 3D-printed nameplate on the printer. For his creativity, Justin also received custom, 3D-printed smartphone accessories in his favorite color (pictured above with Katelyn Amy, PT, DPT, Good Shepherd’s 3D printing clinical specialist).
Good Shepherd received more than 80 entries from patients, long-term care residents, employees and the community. Thank you to all who submitted entries.
3DPO ultimately will find its home in the Experience Center of a brand-new, state-of-the-art inpatient rehabilitation hospital currently under construction in Center Valley, near Interstate 78 and Route 309 in Center Valley, Pa. Good Shepherd’s new hospital, located across the street from The Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley, is on track to open in summer 2023.
Experience Center and 3D Printing
The Experience Center is a demonstration and education space for all members of our community to discover a variety of leading-edge and innovative technologies and services that help people live life undefined by diagnosis, disease or injury. Located inside the Experience Center, the Good Shepherd | Moravian University 3D Experience is a 3D printing lab that will allow Good Shepherd physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, physiatrists and other clinicians to work with patients to take two-dimensional ideas and create customized, three-dimensional products. These products can assist in a wide variety of daily tasks, such as feeding, dressing, accessing technology and writing.
