Women’s Giving Circle, a Good Shepherd Rehabilitation group especially for women seeking to make a philanthropic difference, raised more than $40,000 for the purchase of adaptive gym equipment at Optimal Fitness at Good Shepherd, the region’s largest — and only — adaptive fitness center for people with disabilities.
The group presented the donation to Outpatient Regional Manager James Kelley, PT, DPT, OCS, at their June 12 meeting.
Women’s Giving Circle is open to all women interested in supporting the mission of Good Shepherd and enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. Each year, the total amount of all gifts raised by Women’s Giving Circle members is directed to a Good Shepherd initiative, which is selected by the group. This year, the group selected the Optimal Fitness equipment, including a multi-gym for wheelchair users. Optimal Fitness is located inside Good Shepherd’s Hyland Center for Health & Technology, 850 S.5th Street, in Allentown.
