The Good Shepherd Integrative Wellness Program represents a modern, comprehensive approach to individual health and healing. Based on the mind-body connection, the Wellness Program looks at each patient holistically, with the understanding that the body’s systems are interconnected and interdependent. Under the guidance of Good Shepherd’s physiatrists, participants can benefit from an expanded menu of traditional and non-traditional care and treatment options to reach their individual goals. We strive to empower and educate our patients to be active participants in their health and wellness.
Who Can Participate
While the program is specially designed for those with a chronic condition, anyone looking to improve their health is encouraged to participate. Patients with the following conditions may find benefit in the program:
- Diabetes
- Obesity
- Chronic pain
- Hypertension
- General disability/deconditioning
- Headache
How the Wellness Program Works
A healthier lifestyle is key to improving function and inspiring hope and dignity for those affected by chronic disease or disability. Because of its holistic approach, the program strives to support the body’s ability to heal itself, thus reducing the need for other medical intervention.
The Integrative Wellness Program begins with an initial assessment with one of our physicians. Our physicians perform a physical, assess your needs and customize a strategy to help you meet your goals.
Patients in our Integrative Wellness Program work with members of our team of highly trained rehabilitation professionals, including physiatrists, physical and/or occupational therapists, certified wellness coaches, dietitians, fitness experts and psychologists.
