Multi-trauma rehabilitation is for patients who suffer major multiple orthopedic and/or neurologic injuries through a catastrophic disorder, illness, accident or other life event.
Due to the nature of these types of injuries or illnesses, multi-trauma patients require intensive, comprehensive rehabilitation – an area in which Good Shepherd excels.
Each recovery plan is tailored to the individual patient. No two plans are the same – because no two patients are the same.
Care Team
From physical medicine and rehabilitation (PM&R) physician oversight and nursing to various disciplines of therapy and neuropsychology, multi-trauma patients have access to a multi-disciplinary team and leading-edge technology to get the most out of their orthopedic and/or neurologic recovery needs.

Treatment Approach
A guiding principle in Good Shepherd’s treatment approach is neuroplasticity, a life-changing concept. Mounting evidence suggests the brain and spinal cord have the ability to “rewire,” which can lead to functional return. Where once there was a permanent cognitive or physical deficit after a major multi-trauma event, now there is hope and the potential for recovery.
