Good Shepherd Home – Raker Center and Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem have both received 5-star overall ratings for the Care Compare Five-Star Ratings of Nursing Homes report by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS).
The CMS Care Compare Five-Star Ratings of Nursing Homes allows consumers to compare nursing homes on topics they consider most important, and provides a snapshot of the quality of each nursing home.
The rating combines results and data from three important sources, including health inspections, staffing and quality of resident care measures. A star rating is calculated for each of these three sources, along with an overall rating.
Additionally, Good Shepherd’s rehabilitation services team at Moravian Village of Bethlehem, who provide contracted physiatry and inpatient therapy services, helped play a role in Moravian Village receiving a 5-star rating.
Of the 687 nursing home facilities in Pennsylvania, only 26% achieved the 5-star “much above average” rating in 2021.
Unlike traditional nursing homes, Good Shepherd’s long-term care facilities, which total 159 beds, are home to individuals living with severe disabilities who require 24/7 nursing care. Residents of the Good Shepherd Home – Raker Center in Allentown and Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem have diagnoses such as multiple sclerosis, brain injury, cerebral palsy, spinal cord injury and muscular dystrophy.
Congratulations to the teams at Good Shepherd Home – Raker Center, Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem and Moravian Village of Bethlehem.
About Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Network
