Good Shepherd Rehabilitation's Women's Giving Circle presents a $36,000 check in support of improvements to the garden at Good Shepherd Home - Bethlehem

Good Shepherd Rehabilitation’s Women’s Giving Circle, a group especially for women seeking to make a philanthropic difference, has raised $36,000 to fund a wide variety of adaptive garden improvements for the residents of Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem.

Women’s Giving Circle is open to all women interested in supporting the mission of Good Shepherd and enhancing the lives of people with disabilities. Each year, the total amount of all gifts raised by Women’s Giving Circle members is directed to a Good Shepherd initiative, which is selected by the group. This year, the group selected the garden enhancements.

Recently, the group presented Erinn Vassallo, Rachel Tholan and Riley Hower, who are certified therapeutic recreational therapists at Good Shepherd Home – Bethlehem, with a $36,000 check.

The group’s total funds will go toward the purchase of new benches, weather-resistant chairs, accessible tables, adaptive gardening tools, umbrellas, bird feeders, solar lighting, vegetable trugs and more. The garden is a popular place for Good Shepherd residents, and also is utilized by the nearby Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital Emily Howatt Pliskatt Pediatric Unit.
