“It’s a Gift”: BJ’s Recovery from COVID-19

This is the story of BJ Hansell and her recovery from COVID-19.

With help from the expert rehabilitation teams at Good Shepherd Specialty Hospital and Good Shepherd Rehabilitation Hospital, BJ and her husband Doug traveled to Yellowstone National Park in September 2020 to celebrate their 23^rd anniversary — a moment they almost missed because of COVID.

“If there’s nothing else we learned from this, it’s every moment — every day — it’s a gift,” says Doug. “I don’t know how to express just how grateful I am.”
